Alex Presley is a singer, songwriter, and music producer who makes synth-driven pop music.

Danceable rhythms and vibrant sounds act as disarming agents against bold musings about fame, freedom, sacrifice and self-expression from the viewpoint of a 20-something living as an LA transplant from Tupelo, Mississippi. Echoes of synth-pop, new-wave, and hip-hop influences come alive against a backdrop of dynamic beats, powerful analog synths, and pulsating basslines.

Falling in love with music happened to Alex around the same age it did a distant relative of hers — Elvis Presley. She spent many childhood afternoons with her mother, running errands in her Cadillac Fleetwood. They passed much time trading musical influences and sharing their favorite albums, further solidifying Alex’s obsession. She realized she had one goal: to make music.

Growing up, she sharpened her musical craft. She picked up playing piano at five, and began competing in state-wide piano competitions. In 2004, she was ranked the 3rd best piano player in Mississippi. From elementary school to high school, she spent her afternoons and nights studying various forms of dance and singing in church and school choirs.

One day while bored in her college library, she had a life-changing revelation — that computer keyboard keys could be played as piano keys. She made it her new goal to start writing and producing her own music. In no time, she was putting together her own songs.

Inspired by her prerequisite time in the south and newfound purpose, she shot out like a cannon upon college graduation — and landed in the middle of Hollywood. Rather than chasing trends, she decided to be an innovator and start her own. She learned many aspects of music production from working in Ableton and studying music theory and composition, while authentically developing a unique musical style through being surrounded by creatives.

Due to her strong set of tools, she oversees every element of her music. Her piano capabilities shine in the form of melodies, harmonies, and chord progressions that bring to life experiences that blur life and art. With each track, she sets out on a mission to create a sense-driven ride to places unseen and to produce sounds previously unheard.
