Alex Rosales

Alex Rosales is your typical guy next door— if the guy next door could sing, produce and play 5 instruments. Before becoming a walking drum machine, he was just Alejandro Rosales, Born in Santa Ana, California and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. “I wrote my first song when I was 11 years old”, says the Midwest bred singer/songwriter. “when  I was a little boy, I remember relating sound and notes to colors; it was crazy!”.

Born to immigrant parents, Alex grew up listening to traditional Mexican music, but by age 13, soon found himself in local bars playing alongside guys twice his age. “Because I was underage, I would have to wait outside in the parking lot” says Alex,  between sets, “Just so I wouldn’t get caught.”,.  Soon after, he would be introduced to the life changing sound of R&B music. “I remember hearing Brian Mcknight for the first time; I  listened to “Anytime” about a dozen times that night”. “The chords, the singing...It was something completely new to me .I was hooked!”.

 By age 18, Alex would sign  a management deal with former La Face records songwriter, William Woodson. With his help, Alex would go on to win “Best Male Vocalist” in the Indianapolis Black Expo talent show. “I’m not going to lie,” says Alex, “I stood out like a sore thumb”.

By 22, Alex established himself as a  producer in his home city, but a phone call from a former teacher would forever change his trajectory.

 Having heard what Alex was capable of early on, Luis Morales, the former high school ESL teacher invited him  to helm the newly formed Spanish rock band,  Mantra. Along with Manager Saul Ramirez, Mantra would captivate the midwest, Eventually  opening for such acts as  Enanitos Verdes and Alejandra Guzman, and culminating with a place on the US tour with Spanish pop band Belanova.

 In 2011 Alex made the move to LA, and after only one week in the city, caught the attention of Warner Music A&R executive Mike Caren through a Facebook message. Alex was invited for writing sessions while at the same time starting to produce spanish remixes of current top 40 hits. Alex saw some success with an electronic, merengue and brazilian batucada infused remix of Rihanna’s hit “Where Have You Been” that features a spanish verse sung by him. Earning him over 400k views before Youtube taking it down because of a copyright dispute.

 Luck came in 2014 when, again, a random Facebook message to Ashley Poole paid off. The former Bad Boy Records and DREAM member was releasing new music and Alex signed on to produce her first single called “Sometimes”. That later opened doors for Alex to help produce music for DREAM when they decided to reunited for a summer tour in 2016 along side other artists of that era, O-Town, Ryan Cabrera and 98 Degrees.

 Now with the release of his new single, “High On This Love”, Alex Rosales is more determined than ever to prove that he is a force to be reckoned with. Filled with an assorted mix of lush sounds and soothing falsettos, “High On This Love” showcases Alex’s production ability and musicianship while constantly reminding you of his vocal technique.

 “If people listen to my music and I can make them feel the same thing I feel when I’m making it. Then that's all I’m looking for.”
