BIO

Alexander Mills - singer /songwriter

Alex began his musical journey at the age 10 having been introduce to classical piano lessons by his mother. Despite that beginning the guitar turned out to be his real love and passion.

His unorthodox guitar playing pairs perfectly with his unexpected vocals which were discovered through a performance of his high school graduation song.

While busking in St. Lawrence Gap, a tourist musical hot spot in Barbados, he subsequently expanded his reach by securing a gig at the Irish mans bar, subsequently attracted the attention of Odyssey Entertainment (Odyssey Entertainment - music business firm) and thus engaging the eyes and ears of principles Peter Headley and Barry Knight.

After being introduce to artist development Alex began using music as a means to express his emotions and perception of life through the composition of his own songs.

Given an opportunity by promoter Gilbert Rowe to be an opening act for Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds at the 2010 Barbados Jazz Festival, Alex took advantage of that platform to expand his musical landscape with promotional tours of Canada and performances at the Virgin Holidays music festival, having introduce a unique concept with drums with drummer Corey Applewhaite there after being known as Alex and Corey this duo for the next 4 years traveled to Los Angeles, Nashville, San Diego, New York and London promoting their music, performing and being educated by industry professionals. In June 2014, after being recognized and winning the premier prize at a songwriting conference in Nashville, Corey left the band for personal reasons.

Embarking on a journey as a solo artist, Alex has taken on the challenge of being a better songwriter, better performer and better singer girded by opportunities by music production professional Tom Jackson ably assisted by Lang Bliss.

Now residing in Brisbane Australia, Alex continues with the support and continued guidance of his management team to improve on his songwriting, performing and  recording/production goals.

His ambition, intensity and authenticity continue to charm audiences who are convinced of much bigger things to come.
