"Kathleen France"

"Alexandra Frederick...did a beautiful rendition of "Sous le Ciel de Paris"..." - NitelifeExchange.com

"E. Katherine Kerr, Actor"

Alex's velvety voice can soothe the most frayed soul. Her perfect pitch, heartfelt expression, and gentle humor make listening to her again and again a habit. - Broadway and Film

"David Adler, Jazz Critic"

Lovely...a strong and expressive voice...excellent choice of songs, too. - New York Times, Downbeat

"John Vittori, Owner and Manager"

Alex is an extraordinary performer. Her combination of lively piano, jazzy vocals, and magnetic personality drew us all in to create a magical, memorable evening of entertainment. - The Garden Gables Inn, Lenox, MA

"Mark Murphy, Jazz Singer"

...a Jazz flower! - International Recording Artist

"Sarah Rice, Broadway Star"

Alexandra Frederick has the kind of voice I can listen to for hours and never tire of hearing her. With a vocal timbre reminiscent of Julie London, but a style uniquely her own, when Alex sings, you feel all is right with the world. - Johanna, Sweeney Todd

"Scott Reeves, Trombonist, Author"

...an outstanding vocalist and [an] excellent musician. - "Creative Jazz Improvization"

"Mike Holober, Jazz Pianist"

Alexandra is a mature and expressive singer...her musicality and savvy make her fun to play with. Alexandra is also a wonderful person with a great sense of humor...my highest recommendation. - Composer and Associate Director BMI Jazz Workshop

"Scott Fernqvist, Westchester County Government"

Alexandra's lovely voice and Tsuyoshi's impressive guitar playing provided the perfect atmosphere for our international guests of all musical persuasions. While rooted in American jazz, the music represented a number of cultural influences and was the perfect complement to an equally global event. Alexandra adapted her performance to meet our specific needs and was highly professional from start to finish. I would definitely work with Alexandra again and will continue to recommend her to anyone looking to add that special musical flare to any event. - Global Strategy and Economic Development

"Leonard Jacobs, Arts Reviewer"

...some of the purist treble-key harmonics one could wish for. - The Upper East Side Resident

"Mark York, Broadway Pianist"

With so many jazz singers in New York City, one begins to sound like all the rest. However, the velvet, sophisticated sound of Alex Frederick's voice instantly stands out. Her theatrical approach to interpretation makes every song she sings come to life instead of only being lovely background music. A true gem in the New York City Jazz World! - Music Director, Cy Coleman, Jerry Herman

Bio

"Lovely...strong and expressive," comments Jazz critic David Adler, (New York Times, Downbeat); and from actor Phillip Burrill: "A voice like silk on bare skin!" From Broadway to   Bossa Nova, singer/pianist Alexandra Frederick plays it all - in her own Jazz-infused style - singing in French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. A British American, Alexandra now plays top Manhattan venues, including Don’t Tell Mama’s piano bar in the Theater District. Recently she has fused French Cabaret with the Great American Songbook at Alouette Bistro; brought her trio to Tomi Jazz Club; and appeared with Broadway star Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd). Alexandra performs at private and special events, concert halls and clubs, hotels, festivals, and Jazz venues in the UK and US, and as an entertainer with Carnival and Princess Cruise Lines. A student of renowned vocalists Sheila Jordan and Mark Murphy she holds a degree in Jazz Performance from the City College of New York, as well as a classical music degree from Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology, England.
