Alexe Colbus is a talented singer/songwriter/pianist who hails from Fairfax, VA who has written and performed music nearly all her life.

Biography

Alexe Colbus is the voice of our generation radiating with truthful, and raw talent. With roots in pop and soul, and influences of Fiona Apple, and Sara Bareilles, Alexe continues to gain the respect and critical acclaim of all audiences hailing from her hometown of Fairfax, Virginia. Joel Pomerantz of the Songwriters Association of Washington has described singer/songwriter and pianist Alexe Colbus as having a “pure, mature voice and clever songwriting skills.” Colbus has had music in her blood since the day she was born. After putting on a show in her cul-de-sac at five years old singing “Big Spender” it was evident the stage was her second home and that she was born to perform.
She has performed at various Fairfax venues such as Jammin’ Java, and Bangkok Blues as well as several venues in New York City. Amongst those performances is singing the National Anthem at George Mason University’s Patriot Center in front of over 6,000 people.
She and producer, SJ Cameron, recently linked up to produce her single, “Out of Time,” where Colbus expressed an interest in trying something new with her music by fusing her piano playing and elements of soul with hip-hop and electronic production. She is currently in the studio working on new material for upcoming second album. We look forward to hearing your input and suggestions of the
upcoming single.

Lyrics

Out of Time

Written By: A. Colbus/S. Cameron

C1
There’s something in your eyes
That’s holding me back from
Giving me all to you
Maybe it’s your pride
You won’t let me through
In my mind, you’ve ran out of time
(You ran out of time)

PC1
You ran out of time
Maybe it’s your pride
You won’t let me through
In my mind, you’ve ran out of time
(You ran out of time)

V1
There so many places, I wanted to go
All I needed was you by my side
But it felt like you pulled away, Didn’t you want to stay?
No I relied on a lie…

V1b
You do it so well,
Yeah, you do it so well
But someone will replace you, one I’ll relate to
It’ll always cross your mind
How you ran out of time

B1
Now you wonder, if anyone will love you
The way I have
You’ve pulled yourself under, the surface above you
Now who’s going to be your raft
(You ran out of time)

C2
There’s something in your eyes
That’s holding me back from
Giving me all to you
Maybe it’s your pride
You won’t let me through
In my mind, you’ve ran out of time
(You ran out of time)
There’s something in your eyes
That’s holding me back from
Giving me all to you
Maybe it’s your pride
You won’t let me through
In my mind, you’ve ran out of time
(You ran out of time)

B2
Now as far as you and I can see
Only one of us regrets you letting go of me
You had me there, you had me there
Embrace the ghosts of the past, because I won’t dare

B2b
Now as far as you and I can see
Only one of us regrets you letting go of me
You had me there, you had me there
Embrace the ghosts of the past, because I won’t dare

C3
There’s something in your eyes
That’s holding me back from
Giving me all to you
Maybe it’s your pride
You won’t let me through
In my mind, you’ve ran out of time
(You ran out of time)
