"After Dark"

"This one was called "Welcome to America Night: Funny Immigrants."

Personally, I really liked two of the comics this night -- the adorable Nadine Rajabi, who hosted the event, and the clever Alex Endeshaw. Both rising stars in the LA comedy scene.

Mr. Endeshaw struck me with his relaxed stage presence and timing. Look out for his hilarious take on “Time Travel for Black people.”

"Comedy Soup"

"The Immigrants of Comedy" is one of the best collection of ethnic comedians in town. Featuring the unique voices of Alex Endeshaw and Miguel Fierro.

-Libby Molyneaux - LA Weekly

"Falling Together/Coming Apart"

"Citizen Bernie," by first time playwright Terence Anthony, promises great things to come from this gifted new writer. Obviously, Anthony is a keen observer of the human condition, as two racially, socially, sexually and intellectually mismatched men affirm that it does not have to be so damned hard for people from different backgrounds and with opposite viewpoints to find a common bond. Both roles are played with exceptional skill and compassion by John Del Regno and Alex Endeshaw."

-Travis Michael Holder - Entertainment Today

"Comedy at the Queen Mary"

"Always skeptical about a night of comedy, I was pleasantly surprised at the Laugh Is Hope Comedy Club on the Queen Mary Hotel. The 8:30pm and 11pm shows featured the comedy of Alex Endeshaw and Aristotle Athiras, recent winners of the Carnival Cruises Comedy Challenge. Funny and entertaining."

Bio

Alex Endeshaw is leading the next generation of ethnic American comedians. The son of poor Ethiopian refugees, Alex came to America in the 80's and fell in love...with his TV; constantly imitating actors, TV personalities even cartoon characters. He grew up in Queens, NY, hearing Sam Kinison make jokes about his starving countrymen. Alex knew he would have his revenge, becoming a stand up comedian.

Alex makes light of being from a country most people never heard of, the rough journey to America, mistaken for Indian, his crazy immigrant family and the trials of going to a predominantly white school.

Alex makes his living as a clown and children's entertainer after a brief disastrous life in Corporate America. Sesame Street beats Wall Street!

For fun, Alex impersonates Sammy Davis Jr. in a Rat Pack Tribute Band that performs at casinos and theaters in California. He sings, dances, and does impressions.
