Bio
Alex's songs are intelligently written with just the right amount of biting humour, and she sings them in a crystal-clear, beautiful voice that is reminiscent of Dolly Parton, the McGarrigle sisters and Janis Joplin all rolled into one.
Alex’s most recent cd, Love Bites, is at times catchy, foot-stomping, evil fun and at others, melancholic and thought-provoking. Alex is currently in the studio working on her next cd, "The Day the Money Run Out", a collection of original songs about Toronto, work, and the economy and ecology of urban life. "The Day the Money Run Out" is scheduled for release in summer 2010.
Eminently relatable, Alex takes on subjects that never go out of style: from the horrific realization that you have been replaced by two TVs to the uncrushable hope that you’ll always meet someone new going ‘round the oxbow bend.
