Its been so long, so long hiding in basements, writing songs, buying equipment, eating dollar menu when on the road, having neighbors yell at the drummer for playing after 8:00 P.M., countless disappointments, fighting with each other, and days when someone wouldn't talk to you because of the last fight, all this at the same time as we've been attending school, and working full time jobs to support ourselves and our music.
The only thing that kept us going were the live shows, in small claustrophobic rooms that smelled like body-odor and rock and roll. The PA were always old, and many of the drunks who were working them had no clue what the hell they were doing. It was the kids, and the show producers who gave us what we needed to carry on.
After many different people coming and going, and one too many line up changes, we are where we started. The three who have been in this together, and we plan to stick it out to the end. What ever end that maybe We have written, recorded, fully produced, and abandoned more than two hundred songs (or different editions of the same songs) in the past. Only keeping the absolute best of the songs. Now finally there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, or is it just another train?
Or completely self-written, self-produced, and self-recorded album is in the final stages of production. It's just the task of raising and saving enough money now to get the album mastered, to put it on itunes, and to start advertising for it everywhere. We also need to buy more merchandise, and are looking for management, and someone with connections to booking agents so we can have a slightly better tour this time. We are looking for shows this summer.
If you take a lady who is hot enough and has a strong enough voice to beat lady Gaga, add a drummer who can play songs by Dimmu Borgir for fun, and a compose who is creative and experimental from the heart out, (don't forget classicly trained!) Then you have Alexis CX.
