Alex Milsted

 Portland, Oregon, USA

Alex Milsted is an emerging saxophonist based in Portland, Oregon. With musical maturity far beyond his nineteen years, he has turned many heads his direction and has become one of the busiest saxophonists in the Portland area.

Born in Garland, Texas, Alex Milsted was raised in a jazz loving household in Portland, Oregon. At an early age, he was exposed to Stan Getz, George Benson, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, and more. Milsted started playing saxophone at the age of 8, and his passion only grew from there. Throughout his life, he's had the opportunity to play with musicians such as Terrell Stafford, Christian Scott, Dana Hall, Houston Person, Mike Phillips, Terri Lynn Carrington, and many more.

Milsted is a current member of the Mike Phillips Band with whom he plays numerous shows around the US. Other current projects he's involved with include The Doo Doo Funk All-Stars, Keegan Smith and the Fam, The Christie Snow Band, and more. Alex also freelances in the Portland area playing various jazz, R&B, rock, and blues gigs.

Milsted's style is set far apart from other his age. His dark sound and laid back personality create an attitude you don't get from a 19 year old. With his first solo album getting ready to be recorded this summer, he promises to turn quite a few heads his direction.
