Alex Pomerantz

Alex Pomerantz’s passion is music. At 8 years old he had his first guitar lesson and was grabbed by the music. Throughout the years Alex has enjoyed listening to John Mayer, Keith Urban, Joshua Radin, Matt Nathanson, Gin Blossoms and Dave Matthews Band. Those few examples have helped Alex push himself musically. Alex continues to write on a daily basis. “I find joy not only in writing, but also performing. Knowing that I am able to touch someone through music puts a big smile on my face". Alex does not turn a concert into a one-man show. His contagious smile and energy makes others want to join in with him too. "All I want to do is give back. I love writing and playing music but what's the point if I can't share it".

Alex's dream of becoming a successful artist began when he first played guitar with Rick Recht. Rick is a successful role model who uses music to teach and entertain people of all ages. Alex loves the thrill of playing guitar in front of people. Recht has inspired Alex and continues to help him reach his goals. In his senior year of high school Alex joined the band Troubled Idenitity and has opened for artists like Patti Smith and the Freddy Jones Band.

Alex finds inspiration in his daily life but he says the place where he writes best is at summer camp. Camp has helped him grow a musician but more importantly as an individual. "The people you meet can change your life. And that’s all you need. A life changing experience and then all you need is a pen, a piece of paper, and a guitar".
