ALEXR build on the roots of blues and rock with a signature style that excites the senses, body and spirit. The music and lyrics are rockin' in the moment. And, revisiting them lets the listener reflect on their rich textures and messages. 

"There is poetry in the lyrics along with interesting and pertinent narratives. It is a privilege to witness their creative energy," says Glen Marshall, producer/presenter of Steady Canoe in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Marshall says, "It's exciting to be around a group so passionate on taking their natural talents to the next level. They are young, creative, and put their full focus on making music that entertains. Alex, the group leader has a wealth of original material with beautiful lyrics. The stories are powerful and poignant.

"Singer-songwriter Alex DeRoo weaves life stories with poetic lyrics that shape and move the emotions. "ALEXR music is authentic and genuine," says Johnnie D, manager and executive producer of ALEXR Group Inc. 

ALEXR are recording select songs from their 125+ original song collection working with producers/presenters Glen Marshall and Bobby Lanois of Steady Canoe, Hamilton. The band is part of the artistic fabric at Hamilton's creative hub, The Cotton Factory. They rehearse several times weekly in The Mule Spinner, the on-site studio and performance space. Musicians Carl and Tim Jennings of the band Freedom Train in Hamilton are coaching ALEXR, and Carl is co-arranging several tunes. The songs are planned for multi-release during 2018. 

Chris ‘Lurch’ Rudyk, producer of Mixhaas Recording Studio, Pittsburgh, PA says, “ALEXR need to return quarterly to the States and continue infusing their creative vibe to help develop a collective connection between Pittsburgh and Hamilton’s music scenes.”
