Bio
Alex was born in 2009. August 2009. Within a few hours, the Petite-Ile-based singer made his common first name a name to be remembered.
During Sakifo Musik Festival , he won Alain- Peters prize, the award for the most promising local artist. His talent for subtly handling irony, his raw view of Reunion Island, far beyond clichés, and his explosive mixture of maloya and hip-hop left their mark on the audience attending. Because Alex is a singular character, sharp but engaging, committed and funny at the same time.
Hip-hop fanatic at first, he discovered the beauty of maloya through Danyel Waro or Granmoun Lélé amongst others and choosed to blend those two distant genres
in his own way. The result is surprisingly refreshing on his debut Piton mi lé and his long-awaited sophomore album (set for early 2012) will undoubtly confirm hes one of Reunion's artists to be closely followed.
