"Self Improvement review"

Philadelphia post-hardcore group Algebra of Need are spastic nerd rockers that sharpen their guitars with witty yet catchy metallic overdriven noise. Spastic drums flail about as the guitars are mixed densely with the groove of the bass. There are definitely some vibes of stoner metal here and are similar to a more modern Jesus Lizard. Fuzzy guitar heaven that dangles '90s DC-era post-rock, spazz rock, and topped off with a seminal glaze of math rock. This is the new sound.

Bio

Algebra of need is a West Philadelphia based four piece with a penchant for driving, thick sound with a melodic undercurrent. The members (Adam Black, Marcus Epler, Nate King, and Jeff Staron) all originally com from central PA. Once they had all relocated to Philadelphia, they started playing together again and, in 2006, Algebra of Need took it's current form.
Since the restructuring, Algebra of Need has played up and down the east coast, spreading their influence in as many areas as they can. With every show there is a new set of ears and the band has an impact on all within range.
