Story has it that as a 2-year-old I would get up in front on large groups of people and sing my heart out. "Oh my love, my darling, I hunger for your touch," sung with feeling out of the mouth of a toddler was an amusing sight, I was told. Apparently this was an indication of things to come, though not as soon as would be expected. The next 30 years found me focusing on my artistic talents as an illustrator. Besides having a natural nack for harmony, I never dreamed that deep inside of me was a sing/songwriter. As a mother of small children I discovered that creative side of me.
Truly a gifted artist, Algie Powers focused on her illustrating talents growing up, not even aware that she possessed amazing musical abilities. Having a knack for adding harmonies, it was while raising her small children did she discovered a side of her creativity that she had never before uncovered. As the songs emerged from her it was aparent that this was no ordinary singer/songwriter.
