Justice is never given when you try to explain music, you just have to listen.

Biography

BIO

Alia cannot recall a time where music and writing did not consume her every thought and desire. Drawn to music and poetry before most are taking their first childhood steps, Alia was using song for more than play, but as a tool for self identity, expression and as comfort to her soul. At age of 11 Alia picked up her first guitar and began combining her melodies and poetry with her instrument of choice. As a young teenager Alia was already an accomplished poet, her words are scattered in several publications worldwide. Her lyrics today are testimony to her love for language as conveyer of emotion.
In 2002 Alia enrolled in Berklee College of Music. It was at Berklee that she was given the opportunity to find confidence in her own musical talents. She had spent several years touring, performing and even recording as a musical accompaniment, now was her chance to step forward on her own. Alia found the power in her own voice and with it, it gave her the strength and courage to truly sing.

Lyrics

Mess like Me

Written By: Alia Ady

something new here
i can't deny
something strange
living in your eyes
so this is where you let me down
ease me gently
to the ground

cause I've been here
one too many times
and I know how
to black out shit in my mind
so I will turn my back to you
and you can just
ease out of the room

i know I'm barely on my feet
you walk in the room
and i can hardly breathe
i know you never wanted a mess like me
so i don't blame you if you want to leave

you said something I can't forget
the weight of the sky
fell right on my chest
I'll make it easy
and I won't cry
all you have to do is say goodbye

say it loud
and say to face
this was nothing more than your mistake
and I will gladly be on my way
take a good look at my face

i know I'm barely on my feet
you walk in the room
and i can hardly breathe
i know you never wanted a mess like me
so i don't blame you if you want to leave

run run run baby run
run run run away
run run run baby run
run run run away

run run baby run
run run away
run run baby run
run run run away

i know I'm barely on my feet
you walk in the room
and i can hardly breathe
i know you never wanted a mess like me
so i don't blame you if you want to leave
I don't blame you if you want to leave

buried alive

Written By: ALIA

take down your walls
you can't bury our graves with walls
I want the world to see
what we are dying for

hold on, I see you
your fighting
hold on, help is on the way
but if I'm wrong
If we don't make this
I will bury you
inside of my arms

I will carry
you on my back
till I fall
till I collapse
I will carry
you home
till they take the life out of me

take down your walls
you can't bury our graves with walls
I want the world to see
what we are dying for

oh mother
your sister's are buried in bombs
oh brother
your body is a war zone
where are we gonna find the eyes to see
where are we gonna find the voice to speak

this is your land
this is my land
this is all our land
this is your land
this is my land
this is no one's land
cause there is no one left
there's no one left

take down your walls
you can't bury our graves with walls
I want the world to see
what we are dying for
I want the world to see
what we have all died for
