Alice Can’t Turn Left is a pop-punk/alt rock band based in Dublin, Ireland formed in August 2010 when Jody and Waco had the idea to start a band. They began with some covers and wrote a couple of songs with a mutual friend, then decided that it was time to search for other members. They put up ads on internet forums and boards to search for a bassist. Soon enough, they had found Adrien, who brought his own hardcore roots to the band’s sound. It was soon discovered that Adrien was a great guitarist and he switched to guitar, and the search for a bassist continued.
At this point, ACTL had worked with several singers, though none had worked out. It was also around this time that Sasha joined the band, after answering the band’s ad on the internet, seeking out a female singer. She fitted the role perfectly. The search for a bassist came to an end when Rob, a friend of the band who had been standing in as a bassist for a couple of months, officially joined the band in
August 2011. Alice Can’t Turn Left were finally ready to take their brand of alt pop-punk to the Dublin scene.
The name came from when one of the band member’s mutual friends, Alice,
slept wrong one night and because of a creak in her neck she couldn’t turn left.
