Take the romantic pop 80s and mix it with alternative 90s sound and that is what Alice Sweet Alice are all about on Mandala. This is a band from Kansas City, MO, with touches of everything from Joy Division and Portishead, to STP and even Pink Floyd clearly heard as influences. Being a top seller in Europe, this isn't a middle of the road act, they actually have all it takes. The vocals of Ali Cat are perfect for their musical backdrop, as she puts on an amazing showing of originality. Guitarist Ron Bales is not only clean, but just as dirty when needed. They are backed by Scott Martinez on guitar and vocals, and Billy Brown on drums. Altogether this is a very enjoyable current and classic effort in one, which is challenging to describe without completely giving everything away. - MUSIC STREET JOURNAL

Alice Sweet Alice is a male-female fronted rock band, with at times powerful explosions of metal, delicate textures of piano, earth-shattering drums and an engaging live performance. ASA has been compared to contemporary artists such as Warpaint, Halestorm, Evanescence, Garbage, The Pretty Reckless, Metric, Lacuna Coil and Smashing Pumpkins, and classic acts such as Pink Floyd and Jefferson Airplane — but while there are hints of subtle influence threaded through their tracks, Alice Sweet Alice creates music that is arguably one of a kind.
Following their performance at the 2013 Midwest Music Awards, the promoter had this to say “Alice Sweet Alice … is without a doubt one of the most underrated bands in all of Kansas City. They have massive popularity Worldwide and they showed why on stage with a monstrosity sound that is full and rich, and with timing that is second to none. The setlist in our opinion was perfect on how each song just flowed from one to the next without having that “trainwreck” feel that you will sometimes get in live performances. Alice Sweet Alice showed exactly what they constantly preach in more words on their Facebook, but that is reach for perfection.”
