Bio
Alicia is a fourth year student at the University of Prince Edward Island, enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology. Since September 2017, she has been a member of the UPEI Wind Symphony and has learned to play auxiliary percussion through the experience. Additionally, Alicia has volunteered in the PEI Regiment Band since February 2019, playing the trumpet, and has recently been sworn into the military at the Regiment. She has performed in a number of engagements with the Regiment Band, such as an opener for a Charlottetown Islanders hockey game, pieces ranging from Final Countdown to God Save the Queen. While juggling her studies and ensembles, she also works hard at the PEI Brewing Company as a server, bartender, and tour guide, making sure to sustain her knowledge of beer. In February of 2018, Alicia performed with the PEI Symphony Orchestra on the bass drum in the 5th Symphony of Prokofiev. Although she does not have any official training with percussion instruments, she was asked to play in that concert and had a great experience working with a professional orchestra for the first time. Alicia also sang with the UPEI Concert Choir from September 2016 until May 2017. Alicia plans to graduate with degrees in both Music and Psychology, in May of 2020. She is currently living in Charlottetown, PEI with her fiance, trombonist Daniel MacDonald.
