R&B Singing Sensation Alicia Bio

Talented. Beautiful. Modest. These three words described R&B singing sensation Alicia Renee perfectly. Born and raised in York, PA, as a young child Alicia was surrounded by musical talent and grew up in a family of vocalist. She grew up surrounded by powerful vocal role models such as her aunts and her mother, who was the main soloist at their church. Alicia looked up to her mother and even though she was shy as a child it gave her the power to want to use her God given talent to pursue a career in the music industry. Alicia started singing at a very young age. Though a 90's baby, Alicia has been inspired by music legends such as Billie Holiday, Pattie LaBelle, Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton. “My mother says I use to sing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" while standing in front of the fan using a brush as my microphone, I was 4 years old,” says Alicia.

Around age ten Alicia started taking singing more serious. Early on Alicia was a very shy child but over the years started to come out of her shell by letting the music guide her. “I can let myself go and get wrapped up in the music and not be shy…it’s my way to express myself,” Alicia acknowledged.

She joined her gospel choir in high school and over the years Alicia strengthened her vocal skills and took her writing to another level by turning her poetry into catchy lyrics. She then began performing and winning at local talent shows and showcases in cities throughout Pennsylvania. Through her performances Alicia met various artists and producers that would work with her to present an awesome demo and help take her career to the next level. Alicia’s demo has been heard by A&R's at Island Def Jam and Atlantic Records and received a great response.

Alicia started to work with local rappers and contribute outstanding hooks to their projects, hooks that caught the attention of known producers that were eager to work with this young and incredible talent. Through those musical relationships Alicia was connected with world famous Dj, DJ Finesse(Hosted Trey Songz "Ladies Choice" mixtape series) who will host her mixtape due for release in early 2011 appropriately called "The Next Best Thing". She is currently in the studio working with a host of talented producers that are helping to make Alicia’s mixtape the hottest cd on the streets. The mixtape will feature Cash Money Records artist "2 Pistols" (So Sick), Charles Sweeting who’s worked with T-Pain and The Dream (Gas Me Up), Jive Recording Artist "Lee Carr" (Put Me On) and Diamond formerly of Crime Mob (New Girl). Also alicia is working with Flawless Productions who produced several tracks on Wale's debut album "Attention Deficit,” Soul Theory, Burnt Joint Productions and super producer Main Event West who has produced tracks for DMX, Beanie Siegel, Freeway and music for use on the national television reality hit show “America's Next Dance Crew.

Alicia Renee is currently putting the finishing touches on her first highly anticipated mixtape. The hard work put into this project will be show cased in the next couple months leading to its worldwide release. As she will perform some of the songs in various events in DC, Baltimore, Pennsylvania and New York City for various big name industry gatekeepers and representatives from Hot 97, Bad Boy, Russell Simmons Music Group, and lots more.

Alicia hopes to follow in the footsteps of her idol Beyonce as one of the world’s most talented singer and song writers. Alicia is a raising star that is well on her way to becoming a household name.
