Alicia Tennant represents one of today’s most dynamic sopranos. This Louisiana native is acclaimed for her commanding voice, superb musicianship and elegant stage presence. She sings in Italian, German, Latin and French and performs various styles from classical to gospel.
Alicia is also an inspirational/gospel songwriter. She began professional training at age 16 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe with Louis Nabors. Alicia participated in concert choirs, played the flute in concert bands and was involved in modern dance, ballet and modeling. She was a praise team leader and pianist for Liberty Christian Center in Monroe, LA for several years. She was also awarded a full vocal scholarship from Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA.
Alicia opened for Hezekiah Walker at the Gospel Expo in July 2009 in Indianapolis, IN. Alicia has toured Southern Italy performing in the Amalfi Coast Music Festival with a lead role in ‘The Magic Flute’ and other concerts throughout the country. While performing in Italy, she was selected to sing for IMG Artist Management of New York. She later graced the stage as Susanna, in Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ for the Louisiana Lyric Opera Company with great reviews. She has performed arias from many operas, competed in several competitions including the New York Metropolitan Opera auditions, Martina Arroya Foundation and won first place in the regional N.A.T.S (National Association of Teachers & Singers) competition. She was a soloist in ULM’s Visual and Performing Arts programs as well as Northeast National Arts Council events. Alicia continues to inspire others with her voice as she expands her singing career.
