Alicyn Yaffee

New York City, New York, USA

Alicyn Yaffee is one of the next generation of talented and inspiring young jazz musicians to come out of Northern California. Now based in New York City, Alicyn's debut album, "Someone Else" features all original songs exuding the pensive intensity and lushness of artists like Alanis Morissette and Joni Mitchell.

New York City-based Alicyn Yaffee, recently released her first solo album, "Someone Else,"  on Madman Junkyard Records.  Recorded and mixed by Josh Connolly and produced by Benny Rietveld,  the album features Cindy Blackman Santana, Pepe Jimenez, Jeff Cressman and Ronnie Foster. Alicyn woes listeners with her lush vocals and passionate guitar work.

Alicyn is currently touring with Becca Stevens ( Laura Mvula, Snarky Puppy,Jacob Collier.) Stevens is a Nationally Acclaimed Vocalist and Winner of " Rising Star Vocalist" in Downbeat magazine.

Alicyn currently plays with Stevens, under her own name as well as a side woman. Alicyn has performed under her own name at venues Rockwood Music Hall, The Bar Next Door, Fat Cat Music, the Drom and Bowery Electric.

"She is definitely a multi-faceted artist, and it will be exciting to see where she goes next!"
                 - Benny Rietveld (bass player and Musical Director for Carlos Santana)

"yeah Alicyn!! what a cool and wide ranging album.. everything sounds great... killing!"

- Jonathan Kreisberg

" Oh, please don't go thinking this adventurous, dexterous guitar gal is an art chick just because she can hit them to all fields. Certainly a today kind of release in touch with todays audience that wants more than beats, she melds jazz and punk without it becoming punk/jazz and offers lots of meat on the bone."
