Chapter I:
As the lights dim and the room fills with raw energy and the music starts. The lights slowly reveal three silhouettes. For the next thirty minutes I felt like I was a rockstar; and a part of the show. This is how the audience felt at A Lifelike Story’s debut show in New York City.
A Lifelike Story consists of bassist Garrett Hoffman, drummer Chris Mueller and vocalist/guitarist Bryan Welsh. The trio met at their high school in the small town of Flemington, New Jersey. While working on different projects the guys reacquainted in the fall of 2009 and immediately began writing together. Over the course of the next six months the band wrote a total of fifteen songs as well as performing frequently in the Tri-state area.
Chapter II:
After trying out new material, the band was ready to take their music to the road. In June of 2010 A Lifelike Story set out on a northeastern tour. Playing a number of shows and marketing themselves to a brand new crowd, the band began to gain the attention of industry representatives.
August 1, 2010, A Lifelike Story entered the Attic Studio in Poughkeepsie, NY. Without genre limitations the band began the production of their debut EP, Never Have I Ever. While the band was recording they started talks with JMD Records in order to discuss a global distribution deal. By early September the ink was on the page and Never Have I Ever was being prepared to hit the world.
