- Blanco y Negro ABC Spain

"Powerful Cuban Music"

“Alina Brouwer is the latest Cuban singer/songwriter with a CD in the Spanish market...
but she does not sound like any of her colleagues. She has a highly distinctive jazz
style; very distant from what her father, the illustrious composer Leo Brouwer, does.
Educated in Cuban and American schools, Alina’s live performances confirm what was said
by the Director of her record label - that “you do not need to be an old, veteran Cuban
musician to play powerful Cuban music.”
- Diego A Manrique. El Pais, Spain.

"Kick Ass Music!"

“Kick ass music. Alina Brouwer is stupendous is more ways than one, and as refreshing as
the morning dew.”

- Juan Abreu, Author “Garbageland” Mondatori Editore, Italy

"A Gifted Musician"

“A gifted musician. Ms. Brouwer likes to describe herself as a World Music artist, though I would not dare take the word “Jazz” out of her classification. Her music is, in
essence, and act of freedom." - Jose Antonio Evora. Writer, Critic, Cuba

Bio

Cuban vocalist, pianist, composer Alina Brouwer hit the New York music scene in January
of 2007 and has not looked back since. With beautiful vocals, powerful piano playing, a
supportive family, years of professional experience, well crafted songs, and a commanding
stage presence this artist’s concerts create high expectations and euphoria, captivating
unsuspecting audiences everywhere.

Alina Brouwer shares her family tree with world famous composers Leo Brouwer and Ernesto
Lecuona. She has collaborated with “big and not so big names,” as she often says.
Although she always has regulars in her ensemble, she clarifies:

“I do not have a band. It would be presumptuous of me to say that. I try to work and
get involved in creative projects I feel a connection with. On the other hand, I love to
experiment with various musical formats.

For me, moving to New York has been instrumental in the way I hear music, and even in the
way I see life in general. It’s been an important move.”

Alina says she is committed to keeping her concerts spectacular. Her fan base continues
to grow steadily, built on the support of followers she’s gained over the years.
