Alisa Simms‘ Remember consists of the title track plus two remixes. The original is a mix of simple keys, drums, minimal guitar, and some nice string touches near the end, keeping the spotlight on Simms’ warm, silky vocals. The second, “Remixber,” has a little more percussion in its groove. The final, “Reminder Drum ‘N’ Bass Mix,” is the strongest of the three because of heavier drum and bass tracks (obviously). But there’s no question Simms has a lovely voice and a good foundation for songwriting.

Alisa Simms: The soul singer has a passion for old school R&B that stretches back to her childhood. “My mom always used to buy the 8-track tapes,” she says. “I was always drawn to the real singers—Anita Baker, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan.”
She eventually began performing at private birthday parties for the likes of Michael Jordan and Hilary Clinton. Is it even possible to be intimidated onstage once you’ve performed for sports and political royalty?

The theme of this year's Bolin Reunion in Chicago was "celebrating our heritage and elevating our world". Williams College's formal dinner held at the Westin Hotel Chicago was a success and after the formalities, everyone enjoyed the evening’s entertainment, singer Alisa Simms and her band.

Singer/Songwriter/Recording Artist Alisa Simms has crafted over the years a unique vocal style that demonstrates her compelling vocal range with vocal intensity and has designed her path with experience, charisma and class.
Alisa has been singing and performing professionally with local Bands and Orchestras for many years making her a veteran at her craft. Her style, talent and professionalism has made her a highly sought after songstress and opened up opportunities to travel beyond Chicago.
Alisa has traveled to Las Vegas, Nashville, Denver, Wisconsin, Canada, etc. and performed at many different types of venues and events for corporate, weddings, anniversary parties, fundraisers, political conventions, grand openings, bar mitzvahs, sororities, reunions, and celebrity parties.
But as an independent artist, Alisa desired to take her career to another level so she began promoting and marketing herself and has been formly known as The Queen of Chicago Soul but is currently The "Soulstress" while touring with her own live band. Alisas vocals coupled with her bands melodic musicianship is unrivaled in any music she performs. Her live performances proved equally compelling, her rapport with the audience is both engaging and intimate, and her powerful but warm voice is ambient as it spreads across every corner of the room and draws you in.
In 2006 she recorded and released her first CD single she co-wrote with her Chicago producer, Jonathan Scales. Her debut CD, Remember is a crystal-clear triumph, and has been getting rave reviews with an anticipation of more to come. This is truly the work of a very fascinating and talented female vocalist.
