Alise and Budy seem to be discovering more and more of their talents with each new song. Alise has a sensitive nature with her vocal approach. And what I’ve been trying to bring out is the power and range she has in her voice. Although our interactions have been brief, clearly we have a chemistry that’s just beginning and I’m excited about our future collaborations. Budy is a well rounded musician and it’s great that alise has a musical partner in crime who has the dedication and faith in her. Bio
Alise is a singer songwriter with a love for warm and soulful songs. Music is her biggest passion from an early age on and led her to the Amsterdam Conservatorium. It didn’t give her what she was looking for: an active way to develop her own style. Alise left the Conservatorium and started a search for the people who could take her to the next level. She hooked up with Budy, a songwriter producer from Rotterdam. The co-operation brought an increase in her development as a singer and resulted a big diversity of songs. She also formed her own band with enthusiastic and extremely talented musicians. The result will appear on her debut EP which will contain a selection of beautiful songs on which Alise draws the listener into her world with a mixture of soul, groove, a warm voice and sensitive lyrics.
Inspiration
Alise gets her inspiration mainly from her own experiences. The sound and colors of her voice blend with the instruments she favors. Warm instruments like acoustic guitar, trumpet and flugelhorn. Alise plays all these instruments, flugelhorn being the first instrument she learned to play.
The next level
The warm and soulful songs of Alise haven’t remained unnoticed. Americas leading soul engineer and producer Russel ’the Dragon’ Elevado who worked with such elaborate artists as D’Angelo, Alicia Keys, Roy Hargrove and Erikah Baduh to name a few, discovered Alise on Myspace and offered to work with her. The first result is the song ’Ways’, which Russ co produced and mixed. He even plays some additional guitar parts to accompany the acoustic guitar Alise plays herself. And, as Russ himself says ’this is only the beginning’!
