Bio
The Alison Shearer Group is a five-piece, instrumental fusion band that blends jazz, funk, and electronic music into a powerful sound that is driven by fierce grooves and strong melodies. Saxophonist Alison Shearer founded the group in 2013, inspired by bands like Kneebody, Knower, and Snarky Puppy whose sounds are genre-bending and virtuosic. Shearer has toured the country with multiple groups, performing at The Blue Note NYC, Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert Hall, The Kennedy Center, Joe's Pub, Brooklyn Bowl, National Sawdust, Rockwood Music Hall, among many other venues.
Other members of the group include guitarist Sean Richey, keyboardist Wade Ridenhour, bassist James Quinlan, and drummer Mike Gordon. The Alison Shearer Group released their debut album,
"I Am You" in 2016.
