Name: Alissa Griffith
Grew Up: In Anaheim, CA in the mid 80's. Raised on an
orange grove.
Now Lives: In Los Angeles, CA, where she spends her time writing, playing, and breaking hearts.
Facts: Loves "Sister Act". Her next-door neighbor taught her how to sing.
Fictions: Once turned into a unicorn, because her mother told her she could be anything her heart desired. Hates Mexican food. Springsteen refers to her as “The Boss”.
Sounds Like: Purple rain on a tin roof in the middle of July.
Born in Anaheim, CA, in the mid 80's, Alissa Griffith was raised on an orange grove that was showered with The Stones, The Rolling of sorts. Janis Joplin, Al Greene, Springsteen, Zeppelin, Patsy Cline, Babs, Whitney, and Maria from West Side Story, a character central to the future Griffith would imagine then create.
At just four years old, Alissa saw a production of West Side Story, which featured her next-door neighbor as Maria. Griffith will be forever indebted to this neighbor for giving her weekly vocal lessons and cultivating her love for music.
Music has always been Griffith's refuge and still is. "Wherever I am, whatever my circumstance, music is able to transcend me to the most blissful place. Everything is cool when music is breathing out of me, " says Griffith. " I would love to be able to do that for others. Hopefully, my music will bring joy to others the way my favorite music has always brought joy and freedom to me."
