Ali Weiss

Ali Weiss, a Marin County native, began singing at age eight - with Abba records in the living room, memorizing the "Evita" soundtrack and playing Cha Cha in the school musical, "Grease". After singing in her first band at age eighteen, she took up the guitar and later taught herself piano. Now, after years dedicated to her musical vocation, she emerges as a unique singer/songwriter whose stories of love, loss and hope are carried forth on a voice of sweet strength.

Ali has performed both solo and with bands at famous venues such as The Fillmore, The Viper Room, and Slims. Ali's honest, lucid lyrics, lingering melodies and soulful voice are beautifully captured on her most recent recordings produced by Lyle Workman (Beck, Sting) and Michael Urbano (Smashmouth, Sheryl Crow, John Hiatt). Michael and Lyle played on the recordings along with Zac Rae (Alanis Morrisette, Jane's Addiction), Davey Faragher (Elvis Costello, John Hiatt) and David Immergluck (Counting Crows).

Ali has complete command over her talent. She takes and spreads joy in performing. Audiences far and wide have connected with Ali's confidence and sincerity on stage. Her concerts are a way for Ali to express and share intimate experiences through her songs, as if talking to an old friend, "Count the ways that I keep from crying, but I just can't count on you."

This gutsy musician has taken a life, her life, rich in experiences and rendered it artfully and memorably into song.
