All They Hear Is Static

All They Hear Static, often abbreviated A.THIS, is a new metal core/new core band out of Bristol. Formed in 2018, the band consists of founding member Calum Fiend ( vocals), Louis Jackson ( bass) and Shaz ( lead guitar). 

A.THIS draw influences from bands such as old Asking Alexandria, old BMTH, Slipknot, Periphery, Motionless in White, Avenged Seven-fold, From First to Last and The Used.

The band uses fast paced riffs and melodic choruses alongside screamo vocals and unconventional song arrangement. They fuse these different sub genres and put them side by side to create a powerful and dynamic sound. 

The band's philosophy is to keep the music unprocessed and genuine while still using modern production.The aim is to take emphasis off midi and DI instrumentation. A.THIS also want to give their audience the most energetic performance which comes along with stage image and an all or nothing attitude.The idea is to bring back the vibe and spirit to metal that seems so lacking in emotion in many recent bands within the genre.
 
A.THIS are an unsigned band that are currently self funding the release of their first EP called "Blood and Devotion". The theme of this EP is about finding meaning and passion in art rather than the materialistic and often over-hyped world around us.
