Bio
Started composing in 1995, had two quartets performed in London 2005, ‘ Pascal Time’ and ‘Stages of Mediation’. Received my music degree at the Tasmanian Conservatorium in 2005 and Teachers Degree in 2007. My first CD ‘A Breath In Time’ was released in 1997 and the 2nd CD ‘Mandala of Sayla and Ava’ where I was influences by Phillip Glass, in ostinato patterns, Beethoven, in his power in dramatic parts, Mozart, in his dedicated melodies, Bach, in his counterpoint, and Satie, with easy simple melodies, but even the use of medieval music and asian/celtis melodies.
I believe music is a tool for healing where a person can relax and let go, let the music take you in a journey. Chinese medicine uses acupuncture, as a tool to create a constate flow in ones body, and I believe music is the same. Buddhism uses a low ‘Um’ to focus in meditation, so I feel that my music is similar.
