Allan Jamisen is an Arizona native based in Copenhagen Denmark, and has been writing his own music since 1986.

In 1988, songwriter and former session musician Gaynel Hodge, who wrote the 50’s smash hit “Earth Angel,” (he was a founding member of The Platters) introduced Allan to legendary producer Kim Fowley at an Arizona Songwriter’s Association meeting. Fowley had worked with such hot acts as The Runaways and Gene Vincent. Fowley listened to a demo of one of Allan’s early songs, and was impressed enough to suggest that a seminal underground label he was associated with, SST, would be interested in his material.

But before any connection was made with SST, a relationship with a Danish woman landed him in Denmark and a new chapter in his life began. Shortly after arriving in Copenhagen, he met former Mega Records executive Claes Cornelius, who had worked with international hit groups such as Ace of Base and Laid Back. The duo began writing and producing a variety of tracks at Cornelius’ studio. Over the next few years, there were sessions with other musicians and producers in Copenhagen, which netted a few decent recordings but nothing was officially released.

In 2001, Allan began working with Danish producer Andreas Mørck. Operating as ‘2am Productions’, Andreas and his partner Jakob Launbjerg co-wrote the winning song of the 2005 Danish Melody Grand Prix. Three of the songs Andreas and Allan produced were signed with a Los Angeles based BMI publisher. Another song was added and a four song EP was released on a limited basis in 2003.

His most recent project, Reply Memo, reunited Allan with a friend from his high school band, Danny Saber, to produce two of the tracks on the CD. Saber is a renowned producer, and has worked with such artists as The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Michael Hutchence, Joe Strummer, and U2. The effort with Saber led him to work with Saber’s former production partner, John “X” Volaitis, on most of the other tracks. Volaitis is a veteran recording engineer and producer that has worked with many top recording artists such as The Rolling Stones, Whitesnake, and Tracy Chapman.

Three songs from the Reply Memo CD have been featured on the Goffus Rock Experience Radio Program on WEBR, Fairfax County, Virginia. Reply Memo has also received radio airplay by DJ William Reed in Phoenix, Arizona, and Tom Schulte, a nationwide music journalist based in Detroit, MI, has featured Reply Memo’s music on his popular Internet show, the Outsight Radio Hours.

Allan’s music is a favorite of photographer and film director Kevin Abosch. One of the songs from the Reply Memo CD, “Closing In”, will be featured in an upcoming independent film being directed by Abosch.
