There’s a new man on the contemporary Christian block, and attention must be paid.
His name? Allday. His debut CD? “Noise.”
Allday weaves together gospel inspiration and neo-soul lyricism with hip-hop rhythms and the hard edge of rock.
And Allday connects –yes, he connects with heart, raw emotion, urgent supplication – to a young audience that prides itself on its “swagga” but seeks hope and redemption.
In sacred concerts that draw hundreds, Allday’s songs speak – not only to city youth - but to audiences of all ages - from young children to church elders.
Who is Allday?
***Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, DayShawn Mojica, of Schenectady, New York.
***Graduate of John Sayles School of Fine Arts, which is a recipient of the Kennedy Center award for excellence in art education.
***Seasoned gospel singer who discovered his calling at the age of three, and became the youngest member of the New York capital region’s MLK Jr. choir.
*** Solo artist since the age of 16, and attendee of the prestigious Grammy camp in Los Angeles in 2006.
*** Former member of the award-winning Hamilton Hill Steel Drum Band, which took 2nd place in the Apollo Theater’s Amateur competition in 2006.
***Minister of Music at Christ Centered Unity and the Restoration House, Schenectady, New York.
***Producer, composer and arranger of his debut, CD, “Noise.”
