Allegra Dee is a movement in sound - two young ladies who love to sang/jam/rock out/express/love/teach/relate/release.
Allegra - means Joy
Dee(Delores) means Pain
Between the two lies a passion for soul, funk, rock and hip hop.
Allegra Dee got their start at the same time they joined an organization called Black Fist back in 2001.
Black Fist created The Militant Mic Concert Series and Compilation Cd as a way to showcase conscious/progressive artists' music and established a tour of New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Chicago to raise can goods and warm clothes for needy families.
They have shared the stage with some of the indie scene's best, including, Malik Yusef, POETREE CHICAGO, Primeridian, Armen Ra, Nuetrons, Kazi the Black, Mama Earth, Yaw and Zzaje.
In 2006, they shared the stage the internationally known hip hop trio, One Self, for the Children of Possibility USA Tour - expanding their horizons to embrace a world audience.
Allegra Dee is currently finishing up an upcoming album and continuing to rock stages as they grow with the recording process.
