Allegra

Allegra emerged on the San Diego independent music scene in 2003 with her solo album, "Some Clever Invention". Later that year, feeling called to explore the music scene elsewhere, Allegra moved to Los Angeles and a year later east to New York City where she played and sang for over two years. Her love for San Diego and the burgeoning music scene there finally won her over and in 2007 she returned to the place where her career had begun.
Combining her angelic, soulful, jazzy and gritty vocals and seasoned twelve-string guitar rhythms with her songwriting that ranges from heartwarming to dance worthy, Allegra burst onto the San Diego scene reinvented and even more astonishing than before. Allegra's vocals are almost impossible to liken to any one performer; imagine Etta James meets Ella Fitzgerald meets Alanis meets Janice Joplin. A touch of country in her lyrics creates an instant bond with her audiences while her bouyant often powerful beats get them out of their chairs. Her captivating blend of genres makes her music easily accessible to a wide array of audiences. As loved by the young bustling patrons of a jam packed downtown Irish pub, music is just as suitable to any upscale euro-inspried coffee house, listening room or wine lounge. Whatever the venue raucous or cosmopolitan, the crowds she draws are never disappointed. In fact, watching them grow from the beginning of her set to the end is one of her greatest thrills!
