Going Alley On Your Mind, 2005, No Cover Productions

Feeling a bit camera shy

Stranded in Chicago, bus broke down in front of an alley and no way to get where they have to go, the Alley Katz once again found themselves back in their element. Native to Detroit the band was not unfamiliar with being down on their luck and survival in the back alleys. Frustrated and soaked through with rain from the steady downpour Chris Leigh closed the hood. Knowing that this bus was not going anywhere he went to find a phone. He needed to call the venue they were due to play at that night. Then something caught his eye down the alley the bus had stopped in front of, it was an open door…

Well being what they are the Alley Katz had to investigate so off down the alley they went. Through the door they saw the inside lights were on.

“Hello?” the Katz called through the door.
“You guys the band?” came the answer, “come right on in and set up.”
“You don’t understand sir,” explains Chris Leigh as a thick looking biker dude came through the door, “Our bus broke down and we need to call the Roadhouse Saloon in Mount Prospect to let them know that we’ll be late.”
“Why?” asked the biker dude with a smile on his face, ”You seem to be right on time to me, cause this is the Roadhouse…”

And that’s how the Alley Katz met Ron Fellows, the single most important person in their career. He owned and operated the Mount Prospect Roadhouse Saloon and had the connections throughout Chicago’s most prestigious blues rooms. You know what they say, that Katz always land on their feet. Especially Alley Katz.

In the summer of 2005 the Katz got signed to the No Cover Productions record label and released their first CD “Going Alley On Your Mind” that fall. Now back home from their first CD support tour the Alley Katz are back in the studio recording their second CD due for release in the fall of 2006.
