"Alliebaby: Putting in the work to Succeed"

Alliebaby, or Allie Persinger, is a young singer/songwriter that grew up on a fifth generation farm in southern Ohio. Although she grew up singing the national anthem for professional sports teams, taking parts in musicals, and singing on Sunday morning in church she began to pursue it more seriously when she was a senior in college. While studying Political Science in Dayton, Ohio she started singing with a local cover band on the weekends for some extra cash. She was the lead vocalist, backed by 4 middle aged men and they sang a lot, a lot of classic rock.

Soon enough they keyboardist, Terry O’Brien – who has since founded Tri-LevelRecords, asked her to do lay some vocals on some of his demo songs. Those couple of songs turned into a full-length album and the single “Don’t Wanna Wait” was debuted on over fifty stations across the U.S. She also gained exposure through local papers and internet radio. A few months later Allie put her Capitol Hill aspirations aside and moved to Los Angeles.
The first night Allie moved to Los Angeles, she met a keyboardist who was also new in town they begin to perform throughout L.A. together. Allie has been an in-house songwriter for prominent studios in L.A., had a residency at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel this past summer, and recording a soul album for an independent label in Italy, which was released on Christmas day 2011.

With her rock and roll and Americana influences, Allie uses a sultry and big sound to explain her interesting approach to relationships and love. Her spunky and energetic attitude is fun, flirtatious and loud. Her lyrics and songs often hint to a more vulnerable spot but she isn’t afraid to say things that young ladies typically don’t say or talk about. At the moment, she is working with several producers to co-write for other people and to further develop her sound as an artist.

What’s the first thing you would say to someone when they ask you to describe yourself as an artist?
I don’t sound the way I look. I don’t say things or write about things you would expect. A lot of times I come off as this sweet, all-american white girl but my lyrics and my style doesn’t match the way I look. My newer music (which isn’t really out yet on the web- just at shows) it’s chaotic, very sexy, and pretty upbeat. All the recent songs are a little different- very gemini of me. ha
How long have you been in the industry?
I’ve lived in Los Angeles and little over a year but about two years ago, I really decided that this is the industry I wanna be involved in.

Do you have any projects out now?
A couple months ago, I met a real rad guitarist who has the same taste in music as I do (Led Zepplin, Stones, Bonnie Raitt) and he is out of this world good. We’ve done a couple shows together an recently added a drummer. So we’re slowly building a band. I’m writing/demoing some songs for a composer for television and film. I recently did a song that is being used for a project for this established photographer in Los Angeles. I’m on a songwriting team and we work out of this fancy schmancy studio in North Hollywood and I’ve been in and out studios writing for other more established artists. My rad friends also throw this big party in Downtown LA every Month called Detention: Where The Bad Kids Get Worse. Party number three is next week, we’re pulling about 250 people or so and we all perform. It’s pretty sick. What inspires your music?
I’m really attracted to the dirt and grime of life. So I like to recognize the dirtier more innapproriate things that I see/experience. I’m writing a song right now about the things that go down in the industry. It’s like the more invovled you get, the crazier/worse things you see people do. Either they are just trying to get ahead or they’re really that destructive and wild. Of course, I write about the relationships I have but I never write love songs. I focus on the more messed up parts of the the relationship. In the past few months, I’ve written a l - AlwayzTherro Magazine

Bio

Alliebaby traveled from Ohio to LA on a whim to establish herself as a singer. A white girl, with a lot of soul, she wanted to find a band to compliment her hard hitting melodies and unexpected lyrics.

Through a friend, Baby met Giovanni and knew she had to have him right after she heard him play. Influenced by the blues, Gio has lead guitar lines for days and loves old rock'n roll. The drummer was brought on through Gio and the group was rounded out with Jon, who approached the group about joining the band after seeing them at a gig.

The sound is very intertesting- it's funky, it's moves, and it can sometimes be considered hard rock (at parts). It's been described as "gritty pop" but we like to call it SOULGLAM.

We have a lot of fun on stage, love one another and believe in the relevancy in our music. Girls get hooked because Baby is saying all the things that most girls think/feel but are too prideful or ladylike to admit. The men love the group because to them, it's like finding out the secret thoughts of women. The musicianship is impressive and a fun atmosphere is definitely definitely created.
