Unlike many self-released (and self-titled) CD's, this 7 track avoids self-indulgence and drabness. There's a conviction and confidence to these songs that comes with self-confidence in ones own talent and ability, the confidence itself blossoming into a polished debut, with an early musical maturity that will almost certainly grow.

Of all the CDs I've listened to recently, this one is a real stand out. I saw the guitar on the front and thought, 'oh god, if this is another Ani wanna-be I'm going to just give up this whole thing' but I'm happy to report that Allison Sattinger is not a wanna be of any kind.

Allison Sattinger writes music and sings professionally in Los Angeles since recently becoming a California Girl. After college Allison made the requisite journey to New York City having graduated with Broadway aspirations. An artistic intervention by Q-Tip ( A Tribe Called Quest ) found Allison writing songs and melodies of her own, a very unexpected thing, but when a legend tells you to start writing you do just that. After arriving in L.A. Allison's music was noticed and nurtured by Brian Jordan, guitarist for Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and Ms. Lauryn Hill.
With his help, Allison made her first little self-titled E.P., which she followed up with a full-length, 'Vox', in 2006. 'So Much Grace' ( from Vox ) was a finalist in The 2006 International Songwriting Competition and in the same year Allison sang backup for Will Ferrell at the ESPY awards and recently trilled on four national commercials. A new completely A Capella album is currently being tracked for a 2008 release. Stay tuned.
