Bio
Allison Tan was born June 9, 1985. Born and raised in Rome, New York. Allison refers to music as always being a very important part of her life. “My interest in music actually started at a very young age.” When Allison was about four and a half she began her performing career in community talent shows. At five she was in her first musical King and I. “I have done over ten musicals in my life and have been leading roles in about five of them.” She has participated in school chorus, select choir, and jazz band throughout high school, and has received many vocal awards.
Junior year Allison participated in the Central New York Idol contest. First prize was a chance to sing in a local recording studio. “Unfortunately I did not win, but little did I know a very important man in the music business saw my performance,” Fran Cosmo of the Band Boston, and new project Cosmo. He wanted Allison to come and record with him in his home studio. Ever since then Allison has been recording with Fran not long ago she finished a demo and is now working on a complete album. “Fran referred to me as a “producers dream” because I could finish a whole song in just a studio session.” “I realize without Fran there is a lot of things that I would not have been able to do. I look at my work with Fran as one of my most important accomplishments, and am very appreciative for everything he has done for me in the past, and look forward to working with Fran in the future.”
Allison has been attending Berklee College of Music since September of 2003. She is still performing, and this past April 2005 Allison was accepted into the Music Synthesis Major at Berklee. This is a great honor, because it is a difficult major to get into. Along with performing Allison would also like to learn the producing side and plans to maybe one day be a producer/engineer. For now Allison loves to sing and is still going to pursue her dream, to make it big and become a big-time vocalist and performer.
Allison is currently working on a new Demo with Fran Cosmo of the band Boston, and will be show casing in Boston and Upstate New York areas around February.
