"Talk of the County - Geo-Karis Park"

I had the pleasure of visiting for the first time Geo-Karis Park at the Beach Park Fest. It is so beautiful and such a credit to the village. I also was impressed by a brother and sister band that played and sang so beautifully. I found out that the teenagers wrote there own songs. It was so refreshing to see such wholesome teenagers in this day and age. - Lake County News-Sun

Bio

All Too True began as a brother and sister acoustic teen duo from Beach Park, IL. The members of this band are Patrick who plays acoustic guitar and performs vocals, Katie who performs vocals, Casey on Bass, and Sam on Drums. Their music is a mix of pop, modern acoustic ballads, and a touch of indie. They have had very positive feedback on their music and song writing from people in the local music industry such as Evie Amelio, managing editor of ‘Feedback’ magazine and Steve Kovacs with Pressure Point recording studio in Chicago.

They just wrapped up recording their first full length CD in late January ’09. The CD is entitled ‘Love Is A Masquerade’ and is currently available. The location of the photo shoot for the CD was at the beautiful Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. Now that the CD work is behind them they are focusing on performing and promoting their music.

The music of All Too True is a collaboration of the talents of Patrick and Katie Richter. Patrick, a junior at Zion Benton High School in Zion, started performing on stage at the age of 10 in community theater. He quickly found his calling and began winning lead rolls in numerous children's plays and also performed in a couple of adult theater groups. The most influential moment for Patrick and Katie was when they auditioned and both landed parts for the children's choir in Evita that was performed in Chicago’s Auditorium Theater. This musical introduced both of them into a whole new way of expression and performing. Patrick performed in several more musicals at local venues and had lead roles in ‘Godspell’ and ‘Suessical’. After getting a guitar for his birthday a few years ago, he quickly mastered it and began his path to song writing. For Patrick, song writing is a way for him to express his emotions about the highs and lows of his teenage experiences and relationships.

Patrick’s younger sister Katie also had been bitten by the entertainment bug at an early age. Her passion is singing and performing. Katie is a sophomore and is home schooled in Beach Park, IL. She has had voice lessons since she was 10 and has performed in several recitals, concerts and choirs. She is currently rehearsing for a benefit concert for the Staben House and Staben Center in Waukegan, IL which helps to house homeless families and get them back on their feet.

Katie and Patrick began combining their talents during the summer break of 2008 with a collaboration on writting several songs. What they discovered lyrically was that the unique blend of Patrick's literary and poetic strengths and Katie’s sense of catchy pop hooks worked very well together. They also discovered vocally that their voices together had a very magical blend and balance that makes this All Too True. As Indie Lady A from WSF Radio recently put it, "Broadway all The way... Listening to there music is like watching a broadway play".

The duo recently added a couple fantastic musicians to help them with some full band shows they have coming up. The band is currently busy rehearsing, performing, promoting and booking shows. They are so excited about sharing their music and growing their fan base over the next several months. They plan on making the most of every opportunity presented to them, make new friends, and have fun along the way.
