"ALLURE"

Just Dance !

"Allure"

Parisian Allure looks like a young Barry Manilow & makes electro-pop music that sounds like a mixture of the Neptunes & Breakbot with a microscopic hint of Justice. - Me likey… A LOT! - Ohh Crapp (http://www.ohhcrapp.net)

"Asian Dan Interview: Allure"

Allure was kind of enough to answer a few questions to give readers a peak into his musical mind. He is quite the classy young gentlemen who is trying to mix and merge the class and smoothness of 70s pop music and French culture with the modern electro sound that we all have come to love and enjoy.

Check out “Champagne” a track that reminds me of Breakbot especially because of that fantastic bass tone. Also the sound of the champagne popping and pouring out is a nice nod to Thomas Bangalter’s track, “Club Soda”.

Asian Dan Interview:

1. Who is Allure? How would describe your music?

I’m a 20 years old Parisian, in love with music since the youth.

Allure is an electronic music with pop influences. It takes french touch 1.0 and 2.0 codes, with pop arrangements and a pop way of composing, (particularly concerning harmony, which is essential to me) associated to a certain elegance and sensuality.

2. What are some of your influences? What was your first musical memory?

I have in one hand all my Pop influences (David Bowie, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Prince, The Alessi Brothers, America, Phoenix, Queen, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder and many more…), and on the other hand my electro french touch influences, especially influenced by Daft Punk and Justice.

I think that my first musical memory is an audio tape of Michael Jackson’s “Bad”.

3. I feel like you are bring the back class and attitude of Serge Gainsbourg in your music, as well as adding a real musical sensibility to electronic music like Breakbot, explain your musical conceptual and production process.

I see that you really have understood my music, it’s a pleasure! ;)

In fact my pop side resides in all that concerns harmony, arrangements, construction, groove and in my way of composing.
But my productions sound electro because I take many codes of french touch, like filters, cuts, phasers, distortions, drums…

I want to bring a certain sensibility and elegance in electronic music, which is polluted nowadays by too many weak conposers who do not have any ears, and no taste. I try to make a music which is dancing enough to be listened in clubs, and at the same time pop enough to be listened at home. And finally, I want that my music does not forget the female gente, which I think is not really transcended by the current noizy sounds, and which hopes something more refined, worked out, and harmonious, and however bouncy.

4. Who are some of your favorite producers? DJs?

Justice, Daft Punk, Danger, Sebastian, Fred Falke, Breakbot, The Twelves

5. What are your top 5 dance tracks?

It’s impossible to do a top 5… But one of my favourite song ever is Planisphere by Justice, it’s just incredible.

6. Future plans for Allure? Tours? Productions? Remixes?

My live set is ready, so I’m gonna do a few shows in May in Paris, and more this summer, exclusively in France for the moment. I’ll continue to put out online one production per month. And I’ve got a few plans with labels, but it’s a secret for the moment ! ;) - Asian Dan (www.asianmandan.com)

"Allure "Dandy""

Lundi. temps gris.

- Buzz En Direkt (http://buzzendirekt.blogspot.com)

Bio

Allure is a young Parisian artist coming from the Electro-pop scene. His music reflects a rich course. Allure has already explored numerous styles (classical formation, jazz, hip-hop…) but since 2007, he finds through electronic music the energy and the creativity he needs.

Musician and composer at once, he uses a vibraphone together with machines to dress his compositions with fancy and charming sonorities. He is a master in the art of contrasts; his works are at once smooth but sharp, elegant and lively, subtle but opened. An approach he follows for the creation of his first album. He is also working on a LiveSet performance planned for Spring 2009 !

Allure is a “sweet-groovy” recipe refreshing French-Touch with notes of Pop and Jazz. A mixture getting spicy on the dance floors and generating frenetic movements of the head and the body… Just Dance !
