Bio

At the beginning of May, 2010 Singer/Songwriter Jacob Rice drafted some local friends from his school to begin the formation of his band. Originally known as the Southern City Heroes, Jacob Rice and Co. recorded some demo tracks in their basement to display on their myspace. A month later they got a message from John Nazarenko of The Creek Studio stating that he would record their first four songs for free. After recording their E.P. the band members Jacob had drafted into his band started to slowly deteriorate and soon he has in the car with studio and performance drummer Ryan Rice finishing the last of the recording.
With no one to preform this new sound with Jacob Rice found himself at a "Satin and Steel" concert in late October. He sat down on a park bench where at the other end future bassist David Anderson was sitting. They began talking about music and Jacob just had the sudden urge to ask him if he was interested in playing with him. Later that week David Anderson and Jacob Rice began the building blocks that would become "All Year".
In need of more members Jacob and Dave went to a local MSJ football game to talk with Matt Sanborn about playing with them. After a few weeks the band was coming together with studio drummer Ryan Rice stepping in to perform with them. The final pieces of All Year came together after Jacob Rice had future ukulele player Brad Patterson over for a funky jam session. The session was predominately a fail, but Brad agreed to play Ukulele with the band.
When you come see All Year live you will find out why they are set apart from other bands. Singer Jacob Rice grew up watching stadium bands "Green Day", "Def Leppard", and "Earth, Wind, and Fire". These bands pushed his knowledge of how to work a crowd, and how to make people enjoy a night out. All Year is also set apart by their unique sound that people have referred to as Pop, Folk, Indie, and most recently Weezer mixed with Kenny Kesney.
Though the recording you hear are a more laid back predecessor of "All Year" they hope to record their second album "Love Letters and Radio" with a more distorted 60's sound.
