"Single Review: Ally Jowett – All Your Pieces"

All Your Pieces is the evocative debut single from new up-and-comer Ally Jowett, taken from his independently released debut E.P Wired the Wrong Way Round, due for release in March.

All Your Pieces is a soft and simplistic song that captures something in the heart and mind as it progresses. Jowett’s tender tones echo around a searing tune that’s so gentle you won’t even feel it as it slips into your mind. His voice is complimented in this duet by the crisp and tender voice of Steph Fraser who lends her compelling vocals to the mix. The music itself is so soothing that it feels almost understated as a plucky piano track is sprinkled sparingly over the yielding guitar riffs, but it’s a powerful collaborative effect that makes this song such a success.

Jowett has worked within the industry for several years but this is the first time he has struck out on his own and hearing this song you’ll wonder what took him so long. But what’s important now is that he’s finally arrived.

Wired the Wrong Way Round will be released on Bandcamp and iTunes on March 31 2013.

Ally Jowett is a musician, songwriter and producer. His debut E.P “Wired The Wrong Way Round” is a showcase of heartfelt songwriting and intelligent composition. It combines layers of intricately woven vocal harmonies expertly crafted alongside modern production techniques to deliver an intensely romantic, captivating and contemporary sound. From the spacious and tender “You Should Know” to the engulfing duet “All Your Pieces”, the lead single.

Having grown up in Hong Kong, Ally came back to the UK at the age of 8 and began learning the guitar. In 2003, he went to study at Leeds College of Music gaining himself degrees in Music Production and Composition.
