Allyssa is a musical chameleon who is comfortable writing and performing in a variety of genres including R&B, Jazz, Blues and Pop. Her vocals are outstanding--strong and soulful on R&B tunes, flexible and bright on the jazzier songs, yet sweet and lilting on the subtler numbers. Her lyrics are narrative, clever, sometimes tongue-in-cheek. and always keep the listener interested to find out where the story will lead. - Women of Substance Radio Blog
I love '35'! Every song is simply amazing. You need to turn it into a big Broadway Musical[!] -Nick Page, composer - www.AllyssaJones.com
"...great new album... really impressive. [Everything] from the songwriting, your vocal performances, the photos (beautiful), packaging, and production are all excellent." -David Avery, Powderfinger Promotions - AllyssaJones.com

Bio
Allyssa's music reveals traces of her parents' unbiased musical tastes; it was common for her to hear James Taylor and Stevie Wonder in one sitting. Although trained in classical piano and voice, it was Allyssa's later introduction to jazz and world music that would inspire her artistic aesthetic. The result of this melting pot of influences is an eclectic, soulful sound laced with clever lyrics and musical twists. Born in Chicago, Allyssas jazz dates featured sought-after players such as Steve Million and Neal Alger, and high-profile events, including the Women of Southport Jazz Festival. Now based in Boston, Allyssa has played in venues from Johnny D's to Riverside Theatre Works. Her work has garnered honors in the Billboard International Songwriting Competition and a place among Boston Magazine's "40 Bostonians to Watch".
