Biography

Alma Madre, based in Mufreesboro, TN is a great band with great beginnings; a stage set for the ultimate music experience.  Members include Amanda Leigh on lead vocals Travis and Mike McGirr on bass and drums, respectively, Adam Botner on keys and Hector Jimenez on the guitar and quatro.  The band was formed after Adam and Amanda parted ways with a local funk band.  Adam convinced his longtime friends and hometown bandmates Travis and Mike that they were an essential element to the forthcoming group.  Even though this meant a move for the brothers, all agreed that the right players make the right chemistry and the right chemistry is the difference between a good band and a great band.  Hector was the last called to join forces, and well worth the wait as his rock ripping riffs bring an icing like no other. His sound blends deftly with Mike and Travis’ solid-as-stone grooves, Adam’s tasty chords, and Amanda’s soulful melodies and lyrics. The final count has been taken as these members come together in full force bringing a sound that cannot be summed up simply, but best described as the New South Soul-Rock Revival.
