Feeling a bit camera shy

Our music is a unique revival of the Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba, the traditional music created by enslaved and maroon African & Indigenous people of Puerto Rico. The drumming, made from rum barrels, wooden sticks and maracca, the chorus, and the lead singing happen in African based call and response, taking the audience on a trip of movement, meditation, and raw energy. Our musical influences are the underground musicians of traditional music such as Felix Alduen, Yenye Pizarro, Ana Rosa Pizarro, Grupo Yaguembe, Rafael Cepeda, La Familia Ayala, and reknown musicians Ismael Rivera, Cortijo y su Combo, El Gran Combo, and others. Our band has hit the Bomba scene like thunder. Most describe our sound as pure SOUL, REAL RAW. Younger and older audiences alike get flashbacks to their moments of love, pain, and joy to be alive as people who struggle in daily life to rejoice as community, constantly asking for the next Bomba "fix!"
