"This Side of the TRAXX"

"...along the lines of Dave Matthews Band minus the horns and violins. The music is close to a Gavin DeGraw feel, but has a totally unique twist."

"...they are very talented, wise, and just purely are doing what they seem to have been predestined to do - ROCK!"

- Kriselen Online Magazine

"AudioXposure.com"

"I would highly suggest seeing these fellas live. They have that real live-presence in their music; something you can totally enjoy listening to while sitting outside on a deck in the heat of a summer night..." - AudioXposure.com

Bio

Almost Green features alternating vocals, stirring lead guitar, acoustic guitar and funk bass backbone, a percussionist using everything from congas to whistles, a classically trained drummer and ebb-and-flow musical styles ranging from reggae to funk to soul to pop and rock. They make music our bodies react to south of our brains.

In the spring of 2001, Shaun Ruymen decided to bring his guitar to work and, in so doing, began the series of friendships that would lead to the formation of his first band. Flash forward to early 2004 - Ruymen and the members of the band, then known as Pumastrut, had parted ways for a short time. Soon after, he joined Paul Schober and Jason Liberatore, friends and band mates from his Pumastrut days, and bassist Dan Miller(Dan-O) in a new project - Almost Green. The enigmatically named foursome was one key member short, until by the grace of God's good hand, Kevin Hill dropped from the sky, drumsticks in hand and finally galvanized the band.

AG’s influences are among the likes of everyone from Ani Difranco to David Grey, Pearl Jam to Earth, Wind, and Fire, and Eric Clapton to the Beatles. Almost Green offers a blend of the greats with a style all their own fusing together a throw-back familiarity with a newer edge. Each band member brings his own background to the table; while some are classically trained, others learned to play the guitar by watching their heroes. It gives their sound an intensity that goes by the book and then rewrites it.
