"Helping people escape the burdens of everyday life one song at a time since 2008." Such is the mission of Almost Kings. From the heavy musical grooves to the occasional lightning-fast raps to the crowd-involving chants, the positivity that flows from the music of Almost Kings is undeniable. Since Atlanta-bred Almost Kings formed in 2008, they have performed more than 1,200 shows across the country, independently and with some of today's biggest names in music. They have developed a loyal & enthusiastic "AK Family" fan base and earned a reputation as “road warriors.” From Miami, FL to Burlington, VT to Seattle, WA to San Antonio, TX, Almost Kings has literally crisscrossed the country, earning fans at every stop. One critic posted, “Almost Kings has an unbelievable energy & passion for their music & fans.”

In 2012, Almost Kings found themselves playing at the 54th annual Grammys in Los Angeles, making them the first unsigned act to ever do so. Almost Kings was named the winner of the CBS contest “Gig of a Lifetime", a contest based on fan voting that had AK up against nearly 1,000 other acts from around the U.S. The group consists of Bryan “Boze” Bozeman (vocalist), Ryan Yunker (guitar, keys, vocals), Danny Helms (bass & vocals), and Kevin Compton (drums). “We are so honored by all of the support we have received from our fans from around the country. We could not have won this contest without the AK family,” said Bozeman. 

Almost Kings was named “Best New Rock Act” of 2011 by Creative Loafing Atlanta. “They love making great music and the whole audience gets caught up in the cyclone of fun they spin. Their sound is a fresh mix of rock, hip hop, & energy that is unique to Almost Kings," says Teri Green of GO Play Entertainment. "Almost Kings is making their own mold by taking all of their widely-varied musical influences and making it uniquely theirs... they own it. It doesn't allow you to stand still, but forcibly draws you & the crowd into cohesive musical mayhem. Truly one of the best live acts touring right now anywhere." 

In 2009, Almost Kings released their first album, the independently produced “Filthy Nice". In 2011 they released “The Club Rock EP.” Their song “Knockout” is featured on ESPN’s lacrosse broadcasts. In 2013, the highly anticipated album "Hear Me Out" was released, featuring the singles "Shadows" and "Hold On Me". Both music videos have over 400,000 views on YouTube. "What we like to do is simple," says guitarist Ryan Yunker. "We like to connect people with our music. And live, we physically bring people together for a fun, unforgettable, & positive experience. An Almost Kings show isn’t just a concert… it’s a party." 

Almost Kings is continuing to grind their way up one song & one show at a time, continuing to tour and sell out clubs & venues nationwide. Radio personality A.D. Rowntree from 94.5 The Buzz in Houston, TX recently posted from his personal Facebook page: "Bands should go see Almost Kings and take notes on how a live show is done. They make 95% of bands I've seen in the last 3 years look lazy." This accurately describes the attitude of Almost Kings: Go hard, play every show as if it were your last, & make sure each person in the room has a concert experience that allows them to positively escape the burdens of life for a short time.
