ALTERED

It’s safe to say, ALTERED is a band that many say is “few and far between.” They are contagious – an independent band with energy and passion that penetrates the soul of listeners, with musicianship that’s anointed and even reckless – with the result being a flavor of rock ‘n’ roll that we believe only God can take credit for. They are creating a buzz that's causing their listeners to “hit the back button” over and over.

ALTERED has been hardwired with a “spirit-powered” DNA. Though, not of their own accord, there’s a unique combined taste of their hometown, Memphis, TN, and this stirring blend of rock, power, and worship. Their music causes you to question the conventional system that separates “rock”, “contemporary”, and “worship.” On their upcoming independent release - songs like Glory of God, Everlasting, Stand, and The Vision – confirm their obvious calling to unleash great music that seeks no direction but up. No matter how hard you try - ALTERED can’t be put in a box. These guys don’t have a shelf life!

Growing up thousands of miles from each other, the 4 members of ALTERED – from Spokane, WA to Memphis, TN – have melted their musical influences into a sound that literally connects with everyone. After crashing each other’s lives less than three year’s ago, ALTERED recorded, “Simple Man”, their first independent record together at Memphis’ famous Sun Studios (April, 2003). Since then, they’ve traveled non-stop all over the Southeastern United States and played over 200 live shows, helped plant a church in a suburb of Memphis, TN by serving as the “house” worship band, and they’ve built fan bases reaching as far as Seattle, San Diego, Arizona, Michigan, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and even Canada.

In their lives, on the stage, and in the music, ALTERED has a direct dependence on God’s provision, which seems to always be cranking up for these guys. ALTERED just finished recording, “The Other Side of Me”, their second full-length independent record, which is set to release in September of 2004.

OH, and when you meet these guys, just so you’ll know; be sure to tell them that you can’t stop “hitting the back button over and over.” They’ll know what you mean!

HIGHLIGHTS

March 2003: ALTERED comes together as the “house band” of a dynamic church plant in the Memphis suburb of Lakeland, TN.

April 2003: ALTERED releases “Simple Man”, their first independent record. (Recorded at Sun Studios, Memphis, TN)

March 2004: ALTERED’s, “Glory to God” is featured for 6 months in a radio campaign on FM 100, mainstream station in Memphis.

September 2004: ALTERED’s second independent record, “Other Side of Me”, is set to release.
(Release events are scheduled for Memphis, TN; Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; and Spokane, WA.)
