Altered Tensions

Altered Tensions is a one man project that has been turning the electronic scene in Boston up on its ass. The man behind the music is Matt Lange, a current, but soon to be graduated Berklee College of Music student in the music synthesis department. Throughout his three and a half years at Berklee Matt is created a style all his own. Combining elements of jungle grooves, IDM, break beats, and lots of glitch, Altered Tensions has become one of the most talked about electronic artists at Berklee and the Boston area.
Altered Tensions draws much of his influence from ranging from Aphex Twin, Telefon Tel Aviv, Richard Devine, and Steve Reich, to Tool, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Devin Townsend.
Matt Lange hails from New York City, being raised in New York City, in Greenwich Village, Matt Lange has a slightly different outlook on life and the world around him then the rest of us. Spending his time running around the city with his best friends, skateboarding through the streets and getting into trouble, Lange has a very laid back attitude towards life, taking things as they come, and turning life experiences into some great music. Needless to say, Altered Tensions is one of the most original and talented voices in electronic music to come out in years.
