"Introducing Alvin Clayton Pope"

A love of music can lead to a life-long journey. For Alvin Clayton Pope it continues to be a drive to success! His early years consisted of exposure to some of the industry's iconic performers. They include Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five, The Beatles, Chuck Berry and many more. By the time Alvin had reached 7th grade, he was under the instruction of studio musician Zack Zachary from Philadelphia International Records. He developed a love for composition which began with masterpiece recordings of Dionne Warwick, The carpenters and Frank Sinatra. In later times, Alvin began crafting his skills as a composer under the watchful eye of Lonnie Thomas. As his artistic style continued to evolve, a hunger for the technical side of recording became a focus point for knowledge. It wasn't long before "Professor Pope" as he is known by those close to him, became an audio engineer. Alvin has opened for The Manhattans, Four Tops, and Temptations. After completing a successful national Gospel Tour, Alvin traveled to the motherland of Africa to perform a two week schedule in Johannesburg and Nairobi. After returning, he continued work on a Bachelors degree in Music as well as mixing events for War, Angela Bofill, President Clinton, and The '92 Democratic National Convention in New York City. Now, the destination is to produce, record, and write music for television/film and the recording industry. - Alvin Clayton Pope

Bio

My music spans the decades from the 60's to now. My works contain a smooth jazz feel and go to a funky hip moving and toe tapping frenzy! Influences include but are not limited to Van Halen with David Lee Roth, Prince, Quincy Jones, Earth Wind and Fire, Sly Stone, and Frank Sinatra. What sets us apart from other bands is our ability to perform on various instruments as well as writing and producing our works. We've opened for acts such as the Temptations, Four Tops and the Manhattans.

My musical journey began at the age of 9 and took me from drums, to guitar, sax and piano. I am a composer, producer of music for television, film, and live performance. We've performed for many corporate events and private engagements with great results. During my time as a college student, I directed Gospel choirs and toured around the world. I currently share my love of music with children as an elementary music teacher.
